Ghakhar City, formerly known as Ghakhar Mandi, is a city in the Gujranwala district of Pakistan, located between the major cities ofGujranwala to the southeast and Wazirabad to the northwest. Surrounding villages include Kotli Sahian, Kot Waris, Bhatti-Mansoor, Dodah Wali-Kalan, Dodah Wali-Khurd, Rahwali, Adil Gharh, Nat Kalaan, Kotli Mango Singh, Bado-Ki, Nora Kot, Per Kot, Banka Chemma, Dab Cheema, Faty Ghar, Ibbenwali Kakan and Chandigharh. Punjabi is the official local language, butEnglish and Urdu are also commonly used businesses and governmental offices.
The city also has a historic train station in the center of the city. The historicGrand Trunk Road (G.T. Road), which was built by Sher Shah Suri, passes through the city.
